|
| MyFirewall is a security
ASP service for computer hacking prevention
developed to protect your computer from
such threats. It features detection and
blocking of hacking attempts through hacking
tools (e.g. backdoor, Trojan Horse), detection
and prevention of program communications,
network sharing, connection control, and
etc. My Firewall comes complete with the
following key features: |
| |
| 1.
Hacking tool detection. |
| |
MyFirewall’s dedicated
hacking tool detection engine is always
running and always kept up-to-date whenever
the program is started. This allows the
system to be up to date with information
to protect against all the latest external
threats. |
| |
| 2.
Firewall functions. |
| ·
|
Program Access
You will be able to choose specific programs
that will be allowed to access the Internet
connection. |
 |
| ·
|
Port Access
You will be able to block or allow
traffic going through specific network
ports. This is because hacking tools usually
targets specific ports on a victim’s
computer. With this feature, you will
be able to block such ports before an
attack actually occurs. |
| · |
Internet Access
You will be able to set IP address
that can access the Internet. This allows
you to block access from outside. |
| |
| 3.
The share control |
| |
This feature of MyFirewall allows you
to specify permissions to shared folders
in a network. It allows you to control
the following: |
| ·
|
Shared Access
You can specify which users or computers
are allowed to access your computer. |
| ·
|
Shares Folders
You can specify which folders on your
computer is accessible. |
| |
| 4.
Network |
| |
This function allows you to view or
manage specific port connection status
on the network. You may check connection
status of the computer and the TCP/UDP
port connections. You can also check the
current network traffic. A sudden surge
in the outbound network traffic when no
particular network operation is performed
may signal that a hacking tool is running. |
 |
| |
| 5.
Security level setting |
| |
You can choose from three pre-defined
sets of security settings. The security
settings sets are as follows: |
| ·
|
Low
MyFirewall will only focus on detecting
hacking tools. |
| ·
|
Medium
MyFirewall will perform hacking tool detection
and program access control. |
| ·
|
High
MyFirewall will perform hacking tool detection,
program access control, shared folder
access detection and vector filtering
services. In this setting, MyFirewall
will immediately notify you of any hacking
threats or connection attempts. |
 |
|
| 6.
Logs |
| |
MyFirewall allows you to view records
on activation, suspension and termination
of MyFirewall. It will also log all activities
such as the blocking of hacking tools,
permission or blocking of program access,
TCP/UDP ports, and etc. All logs can be
viewed conveniently by date. |
| |
| 7.
Online help |
| |
MyFirewall allows you to access online
help contents and detailed descriptions
on function easily through the program
itself. This allows you to access a real-time
reference source. |

When
I run MyFirewall and update the file,
error on the file occurs. |
 |
If the same error occurs in spite of
running [MF_Remove.exe], do manual removal
and reinstall MyFirewall refering to following
steps: |
 |
In Security Clinic, click MyFirewall
and download MyFirewall removal program
(MF_Remove.exe) in MyFirewall Install
/ Removal Program Download at the bottom
of the screen. |
 |
If you double-click downloaded program
and run it, you can remove MyFirewall.
|
 |
Run internet explorer. Click Tool -
Internet Option - Install - Checking the
new version of stored page and select
Whenever to open the page. |
 |
Run internet explorer. Click Tool -
Internet Option - Connect - LAN install.
Make sure that all three items are not
selected. |
 |
Run internet explorer. Click Tool -
Internet Option - Install - View File.
Remove all the files in the folder (C:\Windows\Temporary
Internet Files). (If you press ‘Ctrl
+a’ after selecting one file, you
can select all the files) |
 |
Run internet explorer. Click Advanced
in Tool - Internet Option. Make sure that
HTTP1.1 Use is selected.
Run MyFirewall again. |
| |

When I
run MyFirewall, the message “You
must select Yes after closing current
web browser to use the newest service”
continues to appear. How can I get rid
of it? |
| |
When you update MyFirewall, this kind
of error occurs very often. There still
might remain some unfinished files among
the MyFirewall component files. When you
run MyFirewall during update, this kind
of error will occur.
To solve this problem, you must uninstall
MyFirewall, then reinstall. |
| |
| 3.
|
MyFirewall
stops while it is updated. What is the
problem? |
| |
This may happen because of following
reasons: |
 |
A bad network
In this case, we suggest you try again
later when conditions are more stable
with your network. |
 |
A damaged shared DLL file related with
Internet Explorer
When this file is damaged, you can update
Windows via the Microsoft homepage. |
| |
| 4. |
When MyFirewall
is running, Internet Explorer shuts down
without error in its stopped status. What
is the problem? |
| |
Connect to MyFirewall. You have to check
this problem if there is no response when
Cab is installed or asked to be installed.
Check the installation value in Advanced
of Internet Option. Make sure that HTTP
1.1 use is selected and then run Internet
Explorer. |
| |
| 5.
|
When I
run MyFirewall, CPU is occupied to 100%
in MyFirewall execution process (MF9x.exe,
MFNT.exe). The system slows down. |
| |
This problem might occur in the following
situation where many network sessions
pass MyFirewall as P to P data exchange
as edonkey increases. When you set security
rating to High, it is very probable that
this problem occurs. |
 |
Change Security Rating in MyFirewall
menu from High to below Average |
 |
Remove following registry settings:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\AHNLAB\IOU\MyFirewall\Stat
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\AHNLAB\IOU\MyFirewall\TTL
|
 |
Restart MyFirewall. |
| |
| 6. |
When I
executed the web browser after installing
MyFirewall, “Following program tries
to access Internet” message appears
in Internet Access Detection and asks
whether to Allow or Block. The same message
appears when I try to use other program
connected to Internet. Is this a usual
case? |
| |
Current situation is a very normal case.
MyFirewall shows this message when a program
trying outer communication is executed
and asks whether to allow this program
execution. If the network connection is
normal, then select Allow. If not, select
Block. After checking the program name
or logo, if it is not the program you
are using currently, select Block. To
change Block or Allow status, go to Program
access control in Firewall menu, click
corresponding program, and change the
status. |
| 7. |
No message
appears when I click Run MyFirewall in
the webpage where MyFirewall service is
provided. What do I have to do? |
| |
In MS Windows Millennium version, message
window may hide behind the browser during
the download of MyFirewall.
In this case, if you click other place
in the corresponding screen (e.g. other
program, Show Desktop) or click Refresh,
you can see the message. This only happens
when MyFirewall is executed for the first
time, |
| 8. |
I am currently
using network application program and
it sometimes conflicts with MyFirewall.
Why is this happening? |
| |
If the program that tries to use network
is detected, MyFirewall first holds the
network connection and shows the Allow/Block
message to the users. During this process,
network application program may generate
error while waiting for the response from
the user. In this case, check whether
corresponding program is registered as
Allow in Program Access Control and restart
the corresponding application program. |
| |
| 9. |
How do
I remove the program completely? |
| |
If an error occurs due to problems with
the network, during program installation,
or you no longer want to use the program
and want to remove MyFirewall completely,
then please use the removal program provided.
Before removing the program, you must
stop running MyFirewall and also close
the web browser through which you installed
MyFirewall. |
